Orange is the new Bondage

So... I think I have a thing for orange. Tallglassof_oj_, the orange twisty-ties I like to use, the orange duct tape square, etc. Orange is definitely my favorite color.

Which easily explains why an orange jumpsuit has been making fairly regular appearances over the last few months. Take this past saturday for example. One of my longtime friends is really into tight, restrictive bondage in moderately uncomfortable positions. So at the risk of being hugely insensitive, I started putting together a Guantanomo bay -styled scene. Specifically, I wanted to recreate the images of prisoners undergoing sensory deprivation... whatever term the government is using that sounds friendlier than torture*.

As with the scene in DWTFYW, I had him strip and put on the jumpsuit. This time though I also added a pair of black nitrile gloves to the mix. Gotta go for the full experience right? After some restraint improv (ooh I like that term), the end result came out looking like this:

Generic dust mask, noise-canceling headphones with an audio jack and white noise getting pumped in, airsoft/tactical goggles with an inline carrying case, handcuff mitts of unknown origin and various other restraints added on top of that.

One of the problems I have playing with this friend is that he likes to struggle against the creeping discomfort after hours in the same position. He once spent most of Dominion hunched over in a set of stocks. After we finished up he told me I should have gone upstairs and left him for a few hours. Yeah sorry, I take the whole safety thing way too seriously to ever consider doing that :) But I'll bring my laptop next time and bang out some code and keep an eye on him.

But that meant I had to keep things interesting. I used a sling stand for the first time ever to produce this wonderful predicament:

(Bonus points if you can spot the obvious flaw in that setup)

I finally cut him loose after about an hour and we went to grab dinner at McDonald's and hang out for a while. Eventually we got bored and decided it was time for him to return the favor so we headed back down to the basement. I'd brought a Tyvek suit with me, something I'd picked up a few months ago but never gotten around to trying. He was more than happy to slide me into it and strap a muzzle over me, along with a pair of nitrile gloves tucked into the sleeves. Not gonna lie, that felt pretty awesome. Almost 100% total coverage, I couldn't feel anything except the gloves which were rapidly heating up and sticking to my hands with sweat. He chained my wrists to a pole in the basement and let me stew for an hour or so.

Definitely something I'm going to have to try again. A word of caution though, Tyvek doesn't breathe very well at all. It's designed to keep stuff off you, which means it retains heat. The only reason I was able to last as long as I did was because the tiled floor was super cold.

All in all, a fantastic scene. Being able to switch with someone like that is a rare thing and it's awesome to have a friend who doesn't mind doing that :D

*I could/should write up a post about how I feel about doing this sort of thing, but... eh.
